Hallway lighting is an important consideration for any lighting scheme as the lights in this area allow you to move safely around your home. Depending on the size of the space, you might need just a single ceiling fitting or for larger areas a combination of wall and ceiling lights can work well. For those with limited ceiling height a flush fitting is a sensible choice of hall light as you don't want to be hitting your head on a low hanging pendant! If you have a particularly large hallway space it might be an option to include a table lamp on a telephone table or sideboard or even a carefully positioned floor lamp.
Lighting manufacturers are developing new designs and technology all the time. Wofi Lighting have created a series of fittings that are intended to influence depth perception, which can help to make hallways seem wider. Their Delmar, Space and Estera lights are all examples of these and would work well in a hallway. Wofi have also created ceiling fittings, such as the Ceres and Sila, which include a remote control that allows you to adjust the colour temperature, including a night-light setting. This type of fitting is a great option to position en route to a bathroom for those who may get up in the night and need some low-level lighting.
The range of hallway lights shown below are some of the Buckinghamshire Lighting Centre favourites. However, the selection is not exhaustive, you'll find many more hallway fittings by browsing our online store. And if you don't see quite what you're looking for, please contact us and we'll be happy to try and help, as new fittings become available all the time.
The other thing to remember is that, aside from a bathroom where some safety regulations apply, any light can really go anywhere, it's all a matter of personal choice and a little imagination!
