When considering light fittings for a bedroom it's worth thinking about how you use the space. Is it just a space for sleeping? Then a simple ceiling light and bedside lamp may be all you need. As well as a space for sleeping, is it also a relaxing sanctuary, somewhere you escape to when family life gets a little bit hectic? Then you may want to consider combining different lights to cater for different times.
A ceiling light in a bedroom provides good overall light and the addition of a dimmer control gives greater flexibility. Table and floor lamps can be used to create pools of illumination, perhaps positioned next to a comfy chair for reading. If you have a dressing table, then positioning wall or table lights either side of a mirror prevents glare. For those who like to read in bed, an individual wall or table lamp beside the bed lets you read comfortably into the small hours while a partner sleeps.
The range of bedroom lights shown below are some of the Buckinghamshire Lighting Centre favourites. However, the selection is not exhaustive, you'll find many more bedroom fittings by browsing our online store. And if you don't see quite what you're looking for, please contact us and we'll be happy to try and help, as new fittings become available all the time.
The other thing to remember is that, aside from a bathroom where some safety regulations apply, any light can really go anywhere, it's all a matter of personal choice and a little imagination!
